With networks airing a plethora of Christmas movies the options are unlimited. Here I’ve (with the input and debate of others) created a list of the top 10 Christmas movies of all time! Check it out
1. Miracle on 34th Street
No Christmas is complete without watching this flick. When Santa Claus is put on trial it’ll have you believing in Santa.
Will Ferrel puts his man-child like characters to the test playing a human raised as an elf finding his way through NYC. Only coming out in 2003 this movie has rapidly become a Holiday staple.
3. White Christmas
Truly a Christmas classic starring Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney, White Christmas tells the story of two army pals who become big stars, and with the help of two sisters team up to save their former general’s Vermont inn.
4. The Santa Clause
One of my all-time favorite Christmas movies. This movie about a divorced businessman taking on the role of Santa once he accidentally kills him, had me wishing my dad would become Santa.
5. Home Alone
The face of Christmas in the 90s. After Kevin Mcallister is accidentally left behind by his family while they go on Christmas vacation, this 8-year-old comes up with brilliant and hilarious ways to keep burglars from robbing his house.
6. National Lampoon: Christmas Vacation
Dreading visiting the family this year for the holidays? Chevy Chase’s National Lampoon will make you feel heaps better about your family, making everything your family does seem completely normal in comparison.
7. Muppets: A Christmas Carol
Is it really Christmas without Dickens’ classic a Christmas Carol or the Muppets bunch?! Combine the two and you get this Christmas classic film.
8. Charlie Brown Christmas
Charlie Brown seeks out the true meaning of Christmas in this timeless cartoon.
9. Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
While this stop-motion animated film is technically just a TV special, it is such a classic it’s been aired every single year since it debuted in 1964.
10. Love Actually
This romantic comedy that follows the love stories of different couples during the holidays has quickly become a Christmas classic.
11. Eloise at Christmastime
Growing up this was a personal favorite of mine, who didn’t want to live in the Plaza like Eloise and have a best friend like Bill?! Bringing the childhood books to life, this movie takes the magic of NYC during Christmas and combines it with our favorite hotel dweller.
12. Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Based on the book by Dr. Seuss, The Grinch finally got its feature-length film where Jim Carrey stars in this Whimsical tale.
13. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas
A classic for children and adults alike, Mickey and the gang present touching stories revolving around Christmas including a Disney take on the Gift of the Magi.
Some might not consider this a Christmas movie, but seeing as the movie centers around a Christmas shopping meet, I’d say this movie worth watching during the Holiday Season
15. Holiday Inn
This 1942 Irving Berlin musical starring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire features a song for each holiday of the year but begins and ends with Christmas, and introduces the timeless song White Christmas.
